Gas vs electric vs heat pump dryers
The heat source decides your running cost for the next decade. Gas is cheapest per kilogram where it is connected, electric is the simplest install, and heat pump cuts energy use hardest with no flue at all.

How to size a commercial dryer
Match the dryer to the washer feeding it, then to your peak shift. Drying takes longer than washing, so undersized dryers become the bottleneck of the whole room. Use these rules of thumb as a starting point, then we validate against your actual linen mix and washer extraction.

Extraction is the hidden lever. A washer spinning at 450G leaves far less water in the load than one at 200G, so the same dryer clears more loads an hour. Compare commercial washing machines before you settle the pairing.

Light commercial dryers around 10kg to 13kg generally start in the low thousands, mid range commercial machines from 18kg to 32kg sit in the mid to high five figures once installed, and industrial dryers from 50kg upwards are quoted per project. Installation, ducting and power supply materially change the final figure.
Commercial dryers, roughly 10kg to 40kg, are built for a business laundry running loads through the day. Industrial dryers, 50kg and above, are built for continuous production in central laundries and are specified on kilograms per hour rather than per load.
Where natural gas is connected, gas is usually the cheaper option per kilogram of linen dried and heats up faster. Electric suits sites with no gas connection, and heat pump dryers cut energy use further again at the cost of longer cycle times.
Sensors inside the drum measure how wet the linen actually is and shut off the heat the moment the programmed dryness level is reached. The dryer stops paying for heat it does not need, linen is never over dried, and every cycle ends at exactly the same finish regardless of who loaded the machine.
Drying is a race between heat and airflow: the more air moved through the drum, the faster moisture leaves the linen. High airflow designs like the Girbau ED Series clear loads faster at lower temperatures, which cuts energy use and is gentler on fabrics.
A light commercial dryer is rated at around 10,000 cycles, a commercial dryer at around 30,000 cycles, and industrial machines commonly run 10 to 20 years, with some Milnor dryers still working after 40 years when they are maintained.
Match or exceed the capacity of the washer feeding it. Drying takes longer than washing, so a 20kg washer paired with a 20kg dryer will still create a queue if the washer extracts poorly. As a rule, size the dryer at the washer capacity or one step above.
Vented gas and electric dryers need a ducted flue to outside air, sized to the machine and kept short and straight for airflow. Heat pump dryers condense moisture internally and need no external flue, which makes them the answer for upper floors and tight buildings where ducting is difficult.
