Specified for unattended public use

A laundromat machine has a different job to an on-premise one. It is used by strangers, unsupervised, all day, and every minute it is out of service is lost revenue.

Hard-mount durability

Bolted to a reinforced plinth, the chassis takes the load rather than a suspension system. Fewer wear components in an environment where machines are loaded badly and often.

Simple touch control

A 7 inch display with clear cycle selection that a first-time customer understands, backed by programmable pricing and upsell options for the operator.

Revenue enhancement

Charge for what customers value: temperature selection, prewash, extra rinse, longer main wash and higher extraction, all priced individually.

Cashless integration

Works with Tangerpay, BubblePay, AirWallet and Nayax so customers pay by app or card, and you never handle a coin again.

Remote pricing and reporting

Adjust prices, run off-peak promotions and see which machines earn, from anywhere, without visiting the site.

Built to keep earning

Robust cabinets, proven components and a national parts holding, because a machine out of order on a Saturday is the most expensive machine you own.

Site design

Get the machine mix right before the fit-out

The most common laundromat mistake is buying the wrong mix of capacities. Too many small machines and you lose the doona and commercial customers who spend most. Too many large ones and they sit idle at off-peak. We model the mix against your catchment before anything is ordered.

  • A spread of 13kg, 18kg and 25kg washers covers most catchments
  • Large capacity machines capture doona, quilt and bedding trade at premium pricing
  • Dryer capacity must exceed washer capacity or a queue forms at the back of the store
  • Plan for a payment kiosk, folding benches and clear customer flow from day one

Building works

Hard-mount means plinth, and plinth means planning

Wascomat machines are hard-mount only and require a 200mm reinforced concrete plinth at ground level. That is not a problem, but it is a building cost and a site restriction that has to be known before a lease is signed, not after.

  • 200mm reinforced concrete plinth required, ground level only
  • Confirm slab, drainage and services before committing to a tenancy
  • Soft-mount alternatives are available where a plinth is not feasible
  • We review the site and services as part of the design stage

Operations

Running a site you do not stand in

The economics of a laundromat are driven by uptime and price control. Cashless payment removes cash handling and its price ceiling, remote pricing lets you respond to utility costs and competitors, and reporting tells you where the next machine should go.

  • Cashless payment typically lifts average spend per customer
  • Off-peak promotions smooth demand without a site visit
  • Per-machine revenue data shows which capacities to add
  • Alarm reporting flags a faulty machine before customers complain

Frequently asked questions

Why hard-mount rather than soft-mount?

Hard-mount machines carry load through the chassis and the plinth instead of a suspension system, which means fewer wear components in a public environment where loading is unpredictable. The trade-off is the plinth requirement and lower extraction.

Do I really need a concrete plinth?

For hard-mount Wascomat machines, yes: a 200mm reinforced concrete plinth at ground level. If your tenancy cannot accommodate one, we will specify soft-mount alternatives instead.

What machine mix should I install?

Most catchments are best served by a spread of 13kg, 18kg and 25kg washers, with dryer capacity exceeding washer capacity. The right ratio depends on your local demographic and whether you are chasing doona and commercial trade.

Which payment platform should I use?

Tangerpay, BubblePay, AirWallet and Nayax all work with the range. The right choice depends on your fee structure, reporting needs and whether you run multiple sites. We are happy to compare them with you.

How quickly can a fault be fixed?

We run Australia's largest in-house commercial laundry service team and parts holding, with a guaranteed first-time fix rate or the return call out is free, which is what protects revenue on an unattended site.
