Turnout gear and PPE
Structural firefighting jackets and trousers, hoods, gloves and helmet liners dried gently at a controlled ceiling so moisture barriers and thermal liners last their full service life.
Commercial drying cupboards for workwear, PPE, gloves, boots and delicates.
Gentle hanging drying with heat pump, condensing and vented options.
Supplied, installed and serviced Australia wide.

A drying cabinet, or drying cupboard, dries garments while they hang still. Warm air moves through the cabinet, moisture is vented or condensed away, and the jacket, glove or boot comes out dry, in shape and ready for the next shift.
Tumble dryers are brilliant for sheets and towels. They are the wrong tool for turnout gear, waterproof membranes, reflective tape, wool, structured garments and footwear. Every one of those items lasts longer, performs better and costs less to replace when it is dried in a cabinet at a controlled temperature.
We supply drying cabinets alongside our commercial washers and tumble dryers, so a fire station, mine site, aged care home or school gets one supplier, one service team and the right machine for every item.

Garments keep their shape, seams, coatings and reflective tape because nothing spins.
Adjustable ceilings from ambient to around 70°C protect membranes and technical fabrics.
The cabinet stops when the load is dry, no timers, no over-drying, no damp jackets.
Recover heat from the exhaust and cut running cost by around half versus resistive electric.
Duct to outside where you can, or run a closed condensing unit where you cannot.
Applications
If it has a membrane, a coating, a liner, padding or a shape worth keeping, it belongs on a rail, not in a drum.
Structural firefighting jackets and trousers, hoods, gloves and helmet liners dried gently at a controlled ceiling so moisture barriers and thermal liners last their full service life.
Mine, rail, construction and utility crews come in wet. A cabinet dries hi-vis and waterproofs overnight without cracking tape or delaminating coatings the way a hot drum does.
Dedicated glove fingers and boot racks push warm air inside footwear and gloves, the two items a tumble dryer can never dry properly and the two items your crew most want dry.
Residents' knitwear, wool, structured garments, slippers and mobility aids that cannot tumble. Fewer damaged items, fewer complaints from families, less replacement cost.
Padded kit, team uniforms, swimwear and rain jackets dried between sessions, ready for the next group, with no shrinkage and no lost days waiting for gear to air dry.
Cleaning contractors and facilities teams dry microfibre mops and cloths on racks so they are ready, hygienic and free of the damp smell that comes from air drying in a cupboard.

Choosing the right dryer
Most sites that handle workwear need both. The tumble dryer takes towels, sheets and everyday linen. The cabinet takes everything the drum would damage.
| Specification | Drying cabinet | Tumble dryer |
|---|---|---|
| How it dries | Warm circulating air over hanging items | Rotating heated drum |
| Best for | Workwear, PPE, gloves, boots, wool, structured garments | Sheets, towels, everyday linen |
| Typical cycle | 60 minutes to 4 hours, sensor controlled | 25 to 50 minutes |
| Fabric stress | Minimal, no abrasion or tumbling | Moderate, abrasion and heat |
| Footprint | Around 600 x 700mm, 1.8 to 2.1m tall | Around 800 x 1,100mm |
| Power | Single phase, 2 to 6kW, heat pump options | Single or three phase, gas or electric |
| Venting | Ducted, condensing or heat pump | Ducted exhaust required |
Vented, condensing or heat pump
The heat source decides both the install and the running cost. We check power supply, ventilation and how many loads a week the cabinet will see before we recommend one.
A resistive heater and fan with an exhaust duct to outside. Simple, quick to install and the right choice where the cabinet runs a few loads a week.
Moisture is condensed to a drain or tank instead of vented, so the cabinet can sit in an internal room. Ideal for retrofits and aged care laundries.
A closed loop that recovers heat from the exhaust air. Around half the energy of resistive electric and a gentler drying temperature, best for daily use.
Capacity planning
Typical starting points from the sites we work with. Every installation is sized on a site visit, but this is where the conversation usually begins.
| Site | People or loads | Cabinets | Typical spec |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire and rescue station | 4 to 8 on shift | 1 to 2 double door | Heat pump with glove and boot racks, 70°C ceiling |
| Mine or resources camp | 20 to 60 per crew change | 3 to 6 double door | Bank of vented cabinets next to workwear washers |
| Aged care facility | 60 to 120 residents | 1 single or double door | Condensing model inside the personal clothing laundry |
| School or sports club | 1 to 3 teams per day | 1 double door | Timer plus humidity stop, single phase |
| Cleaning contractor depot | 10 to 30 mop kits | 1 to 2 single door | Rack shelves for mops and cloths |
Why Aqualogic
We count the people, the gear and how wet it comes back, then spec cabinets, racks and heat source to match.
Controlled temperature and still drying protect the membranes, tape and liners that make PPE worth its price.
Heat pump and humidity sensing stop the cabinet heating an empty box, which is where most drying energy goes.
The same team that installs your washers and dryers commissions the cabinet and keeps it running.

A drying cabinet, also called a drying cupboard or drying locker, is an upright cabinet that dries garments while they hang still. Warm air is circulated through the cabinet and moist air is vented or condensed away, so clothing, gloves, boots and PPE dry without tumbling. It is the right tool for anything that must keep its shape, its protective coating or its reflective tape.
A tumble dryer rotates the load in a heated drum, which is fast and efficient for towels, sheets and everyday linen. A drying cabinet holds items on rails and hangers and dries them with moving air, which protects structured garments, waterproof membranes, wool, protective gloves and footwear that a drum would damage. Most sites that dry workwear or PPE run both.
Typical cycles run from 60 minutes for light garments to 3 to 4 hours for saturated turnout gear, boots and heavy jackets. Cabinets with humidity sensing stop automatically when the load is dry, so you are not guessing at a timer or over-drying delicate fabrics.
Entry level electric cabinets for a small crew start in the low to mid four figures installed. Larger heat pump cabinets with humidity control and higher capacity sit in the five figure range. Capacity, heat source, controls and installation all move the number, so we quote each site on its own requirements.
Most electric drying cabinets run on standard single phase supply and can be ducted to outside or fitted with a condensing or heat pump module so they need no external vent. Larger multi-cabinet installations can be specified on three phase to shorten cycle times. We confirm supply and ventilation on a free site check.
Yes, and it is one of the most common applications. Structural firefighting jackets, trousers, gloves and hoods should be dried hanging at controlled temperature to protect moisture barriers and thermal liners. A cabinet with an adjustable temperature ceiling and gentle airflow does this in line with manufacturer care instructions.
Heat pump drying cabinets use roughly half the energy of a resistive electric cabinet because they recover heat from the exhaust air rather than heating fresh air continuously. For sites that run cabinets daily, the saving usually pays back the higher purchase price within a few years.
A single door cabinet typically holds 6 to 8 full sets of workwear or around 16 metres of hanging line. Double door cabinets carry 12 to 16 sets plus glove and boot racks. We size the cabinet count to the number of people on shift and how wet the gear comes back, not just to the floor space.
Fire and rescue stations, mines and resources sites, police and defence, aged care and hospitals for personal clothing and mobility aids, schools and childcare for wet weather gear, sports clubs for kit, cleaning contractors for mops and cloths, and any workplace where staff come in wet and need dry gear for the next shift.
Yes. A typical single cabinet has a footprint of around 600mm by 700mm, about the same as a commercial washer, and stands between 1.8 and 2.1 metres tall. Condensing and heat pump models remove the need for external ducting, which is what usually makes a small internal room workable.
Yes. Aqualogic supplies, installs and services drying cabinets across every state and territory alongside our washers and dryers, with preventative maintenance programs and urgent repairs backed by our own technicians and spare parts holding.
Usually, yes. Cabinets need power, a small floor area and either a vent path or a condensing module. Our technicians can fit a cabinet while they are on site for other work, and we often pair one with a commercial washer and tumble dryer so a site has the right tool for every item that comes through the door.
