Cornerless feeding, folding and stacking for high-volume healthcare laundry plants.
Cornerless feeding, folding and stacking for high-volume healthcare laundry plants.
From dryer to neatly finished stack
Make blanket finishing a productive part of your plant
Blankets can become a labour-intensive bottleneck after drying. Blanket Blaster combines Chicago Dryer's Edge cornerless feeder with the Skyline Blanket folder to spread, fold and discharge blankets for stacking. Maxx adds two independent loading stations for plants needing more capacity.
Less repetitive handling
Operators place blankets onto a moving input conveyor without finding and clipping corners by hand.
Consistent presentation
Controlled spreading, primary folds and crossfolds produce neatly folded blankets for clean-linen dispatch.
Production visibility
Piece counts and CHI Touch diagnostics support day-to-day production management. Maxx records counts at each station.
Inspect as you finish
Open viewing panels support visual quality checks. Maxx adds illuminated inspection and a reject bypass for stained or torn items.

Blanket Blaster Maxx
Known by Chicago Dryer as Maxx Blaster, the dual-input system is designed for higher blanket volumes and peak production demand.

More time for the work that needs people
For hospital, aged-care and healthcare linen plants, repetitive blanket handling competes with sorting, inspection and dispatch. Automating the finishing step can free operator time and help keep clean-linen production moving.
The system handles bath blankets, suitable bedspreads and similar linen. We assess your actual items, thicknesses and fold requirements before recommending a configuration. Finishing automation does not replace your validated washing or infection-control processes.
Build the return around your numbers
Chicago's Bulletin 7578 describes potential labour reductions of one to two full-time-equivalent roles compared with other mechanical systems, and two to four compared with hand folding. These are manufacturer claims, not a guaranteed result for your plant.
A useful return-on-investment assessment starts with blankets per shift, current labour hours, peak demand, rework and available floor space. We compare the installed cost, utilities, maintenance and realistic labour savings, including whether time is redeployed or overtime reduced.
Engineered for blanket folding
The Skyline section uses air-pulse primary folding, a heavy-duty blade through pinch rolls for the first crossfold, and reversing conveyors for the second and optional third crossfold. The folding sequence is matched to item size and thickness.
CHI Touch brings item selection, piece counts, self-testing, fault display and diagnostics together on a 12-inch colour touchscreen. Our team confirms the current equipment specification and layout for your project.
