So what is G-Force?
G is a unit for measuring forces, comparing them to the force of gravity.
Here on earth gravity = 1G, up there on the moon gravity = 0G.

How is it measured?

G-Force = RPM² x Inner Drum Radius (cm) x 0.00001118
Fortunately many manufactures have done the maths for us.

Obviously – For similar drum sizes, higher RPM can translate to a higher G-Force. But – larger drum sizes can spin more slowly, yet achieve a higher G-Force than a smaller drum.
What does it mean for you?
Throughout the stages of a typical wash cycle your linen will experience various G-Forces.
Wash or rinse steps, the linen gets tumbled at a G-Force of <1G. Where the linen is lifted by a fin then allowed to fall against the drum for good mechanical action. This helps both water and chemistry to penetrate the fibres of the linen to remove soils and stains.
The most critical step in terms of G-Force is during extraction. Where the linen can get spun from G-Forces. The washer spins fast to extract the absorbed water in the linen to prepare the linen from drying or ironing.
